The UK Trust Registration Service (JAN 2022)

If you are a trustee or planning to set up a trust, you will need to register the trust before 1 September 2022 - Trusts created after this date must register within 90 days.

If you are a beneficiary of a trust, it is worthwhile checking with the trustees if they have registered the trust.

What are the changes?

The change means that all trusts (even those without a tax liability) will need to be registered before 1 September 2022 - failure to do so could result in a fine.
